Meet Our Chaplains

The FCC Board of Directors has endorsed these men of God and encourage your support of their ministries which enables them to extend the outreach of God’s Word through ministry events and activities.

Ronnie Moyer

As the National Chaplain for the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, Ronnie Moyer represents the FCC at local churches as a guest speaker as well as a musician. No church is too big or too small. Along with his wife Becky, they have provided music and a message at many major western venues. To name a few, the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver, CO, Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in Cheyenne, WY, as well as Las Vegas, NV, Houston, TX and other venues all across the United States. They have also recorded and released three albums in Nashville, Tennessee. Ronnie is the author of the book “Touch of the Master’s Hand, a Biblical View Of Relationships, Through True Horsemanship” and is available in the FCC webstore. He holds clinics across the country from Texas to Montana and from California to Virginia. Ronnie and Becky continue to provide music and sound Biblical teaching at Rodeo Bible Camps as well as Horsemanship Bible Camps for youth across the country.

Alan Hansen

Alan Hansen is originally from the small town of McGill, NV, a ranching and mining community. Alan and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married since 1977 and were childhood sweethearts. They now reside in Mesquite, NV, about 80 miles north of Las Vegas. Alan medically retired in 2016 from the military due to combat injuries. He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps as a Navy Chaplain for almost 36 years with Marine combat tours in Iraq. Prior to the military, Alan was ordained to the Gospel Ministry and pastored local churches in Texas and Idaho, in addition to pastoring in many military chapels. More recently, Alan has been instrumental in the logistics and providing the message (and music) for the annual Miss Rodeo America Devotional Breakfast held during the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas. He is also involved with the Cowboy Church service held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the first Sunday of the NFR, both hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys. He counts it as a blessing to serve Christ through the FCC, and we are blessed by his involvement with our organization!

Robbie Sneed

A few folks local to Elbert County had been left without a church service at our county fair so FCC sent someone to conduct a service. Robbie and his wife Helen then started serving at some national events. In October of 2018 he was asked to consider being on the board of directors. After much prayer and thought Robbie accepted in January of 2019. The board has a commitment of standing firm on the foundation of the truth of scripture. Our greatest need as humans is God’s forgiveness. That is God’s message, God’s gospel, “the good news.” God Himself has provided all that we need in the person and work of Christ Jesus. God’s message has been softened or abandoned considerably in our day and time.

Mike Shields

Mike Shields is from Westcliffe, Colorado and has served in the past as a Director for the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys.  Mike believes the FCC is important because “We provide Chaplains, study tools for spiritual growth, and also provide youth ministry and discipleship.”  Mike and his wife Sara own and operate the San Isabel Ranch, a cow/calf, stocker cattle and hay operation.  Mike is also the pastor of the Sangre de Cristo Cowboy Church in Westcliffe.  He also enjoys team roping, basketball, good border collie dogs, good horses and fly fishing.

Buddy Strachan

Buddy Strachan is originally from Elizabeth, Colorado and now lives in Elbert with his wife Kristi. He has been ranching and competing in rodeos since the age of nine. Originally a part of the HIS Outfit Chapter, he got heavily involved with the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys as a Chaplain and then later a board member. He has been involved in the ministry for over 20 years now and says, “FCC is important because of the outreach to the western world, through youth, rodeos and livestock shows. I remember carrying the FCC banner in high school rodeos when I competed, and hopefully we can help others to follow Christ and His ways instead of the world."

Danny Biddy

Danny became involved with the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys when he joined the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2005 as a volunteer on the Contestant Services and Hospitality Committee. Though never a rodeo contestant, Danny was raised on a farm, owned and rode horses since he was a boy in northeast Texas. He pastored the Old River Baptist Church in Mont Belvieu, TX. for 40 years, with his wife Dana, by his side. Since his retirement in 2017, Danny continues to pursue sharing Christ and loves to see others commit to follow Christ as their Savior. His life verse is “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30). Danny enjoys preaching at ranch rodeos and making custom pocketknives with artwork that tells the Gospel story.
