Meet Our Chaplains

The FCC Board of Directors has endorsed these men of God and encourage your support of their ministries which enables them to extend the outreach of God’s Word through ministry events and activities.

Ronnie Moyer

FCC National Chaplain

Born in rural Colorado, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, at the age of eight.  Starting out to earn an Animal Science degree in college, GOD directed me toward Recreation and Christian Camping.

In 1986, I married my wife, Becky, and in 1989, tragedy struck when our oldest daughter died in my arms.  GOD used this tragedy to draw us even closer to Himself.  It was at this time my wife and I began traveling to rodeos, camps, churches and youth organizations across the country.  I began speaking and singing for several youth organizations, such as Youth For Christ, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Young Life and the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys.

Later, I spent several years teaching as an adjunct professor for Calvary Bible College and Seminary in Kansas City, MO.  My wife and I recorded three albums in Nashville, TN and our musical style ranges from Contemporary Worship to Bluegrass Gospel to Christian Country and Hymns.

We now have three more daughters; one competes in high school rodeo, one competes in college rodeo and one is a head rodeo coach of a college.

Several years ago, I began teaching a “Touch of the Master’s Hand” Horsemanship Clinics and Demonstrations.  The purpose is to use the horse and human relationship to illustrate Biblical Truth about a relationship between GOD and HIS children.

I have written a monthly column for the “Rodeo News” magazine and have also written a line of biblical pamphlets about Horsemanship and Rodeo.  I am currently writing a book entitled, “A Touch of the Master’s Hand”.

Robbie Sneed

Chaplain

A few folks local to Elbert County had been left without a church service at our county fair. FCC sent someone to conduct a service. We talked to a few folks about starting a local chapter. His Outfit was started and I served with others at the local level. My wife Helen and I started serving at some national events also. In October of 2018 I was asked to consider being on the board of directors. After much prayer and thought I accepted in January of 2019. The board has a commitment of standing firm on the foundation of the truth of scripture. Our greatest need as humans is God’s forgiveness. That is God’s message, God’s gospel, “the good news.” God Himself has provided all that we need in the person and work of Christ Jesus. God’s message has been softened or abandoned considerably in our day and time.

Mike Shields

Chaplain

Mike Shields is from Westcliffe, Colorado and serves on the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys Board of Directors. Mike believes the FCC is important because, “We provide Chaplains, study tools for spiritual growth concentrating on and providing youth ministry and discipleship.” His wife Sara and him own and operate the San Isabel Ranch, a cow/calf stockers and hay operation. He also enjoys competing in team roping.

Buddy Strachan

Chaplain and Board Member

Buddy Strachan is originally from Elizabeth, Colorado and now lives in Elbert with his wife Kristi and their two daughters. He has been ranching and competing in rodeos since the age of nine. Originally a part of the HIS Outfit Chapter, he got heavily involved with the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys as a Chaplain and then later a board member. He has been involved in the ministry for about 15 years now and says, “FCC is important because of the outreach to the western world, through youth, rodeos and livestock shows. I remember carrying the FCC banner in high school rodeos when I competed, and hopefully we can help others to follow Christ and His ways instead of the world.

Danny Biddy

Chaplain

Danny became involved with the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys when he joined the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2005 as a volunteer on the Contestant Services and Hospitality Committee. Though never a rodeo contestant, Danny was raised on a farm, owned and rode horses since he was a boy in northeast Texas. He pastored the Old River Baptist Church in Mont Belvieu, TX. for 40 years, with his wife Dana, by his side. Since his retirement in 2017, Danny continues to pursue sharing Christ and loves to see others commit to follow Christ as their Savior. His life verse is “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30). Danny enjoys preaching at ranch rodeos and making custom pocketknives with artwork that tells the Gospel story.
